As we prepared for Remembrance Day, we were visited by an Indian dance instructor. She came to talk to us about the contributions that Indian forces made in securing victory in the First World War. We found out about the brave soldiers, read their letters and listed to the story of Khudadad Khan, the first Indian to be awarded with the Victoria Cross. We got a chance to see how people from different cultures and faiths united against tyranny.
Following this, we were taught some traditional Indian dance moves. The children learnt each step and demonstrated their skills to each other. Some children were so confident that they even started leading a dance group of their own!
