What an unbelievable (and very windy) day! Year 1 and 2 children were lucky enough to visit RAF Boulmer and meet the people who save the lives of others. We met pilots, medics, firefighters, dentists and even a skeleton named Fred. They told us about all of their specialist equipment that they use and let us try some of them out.
We went into helicopters, tested life rafts and vests and got to use the fire hose - the water went everywhere!
This trip really got us thinking about special design features of vehicles and equipment and this is what we will continue to explore back in class.
We would like to send a big 'thank you' to our governor Rachel Murphy for organising this for us and making it such a memorable day.
