Excitement has been in the air all this week in anticipation of Miss Stewart's return - it was a visit that did not disappoint! Children from Year 3,4,5 & 6 were taken back to 1912 and welcomed aboard the maiden voyage of the Titanic.
Having watched a short dramatization, the children then danced and performed to create a unique retelling of the fateful ship. This required incredible teamwork, expression and creativity - the children demonstrated this in abundance.
Not only was this a thoroughly enjoyable and productive morning, it has sparked a whole host of ideas that the Pioneers will look to explore in the coming weeks.
A Letter from Miss Stewart
Dear Suzanne,
Peter and I had the pleasure of performing 'Titanic' last Friday to year 3 4 5 6 at Felton school and then leading a drama workshop.
We have performed this play and workshop many times this term but Felton responded so well ..... I write to thank you and the children.
The children were attentive and engaged throughout the play....they joined in when invited but didn't overstep the mark. They listened and watched. During the workshop they had to change group size and who they worked with constantly. This was done with minimum fuss. They listened to each other and shared ideas. The older children set fantastic examples of behaviour for the younger ones.
The workshop was an absolute joy to lead. Thank you so much for such a positive and enjoyable experience. Please tell the children how much we loved their ideas.
Fondest regards
Cheryl and Peter
